Heather McAteer, a Belfast-born artist now living in Reading, creates evocative graphite landscape drawings inspired by her childhood locale in Northern Ireland and her experience of The Troubles. This collection, reflecting her emotional search for home and belonging, draws on the Celtic concept of Thin Places—spaces where the physical and spiritual worlds intersect, offering moments of healing and transformation. Through her intricate depictions of trees and natural forms, McAteer examines how landscapes serve as repositories for both personal and collective memory, offering a space for reflection and renewal.
